Elysian Fields

Dedicated to my piano teacher Betty Pengelly (1931 – 2021), Elysian Fields, from Greek mythology, is the paradise to which heroes ‐ on whom the gods conferred immortality ‐ were sent. Entrance to Elysium was a place for the blessed dead, and entrance was gained by a righteous life. A hero to me, I can’t think of a more suited memoire for Betty. Always kind, supportive, generous and encouraging. A healing presence to everyone she met.
