Piano Mime

Piano Mime captures the energy and nimbleness of a mime character. It contrasts fast moving energetic phrases with longer tied notes, suggesting pauses. This should be played ‘toccata-like’ with every sixteenth note being articulated clearly. Play throughout with equal balance between the hands. The quick tempo can vary for each phrase to give that erratic feel but always maintain the clarity of the sixteenth notes. Pedaling can be applied but only very lightly at the phrase endings to enhance the ‘paused’ effect of the long notes.
