A lover’s waltz ‐ to be played lightly and with grace. Keep the LH soft, with ‘up, up’ staccatos for that ‘light on your feet’ effect. Choose a tempo that makes the music sound easy in the hand and play with a steady, even beat without rubato. Shape the RH melody with gentle dynamic colour to give contour to each phrase and make it come alive. Add pedal only where marked to lend warmth to those phrases but keep the clarity where there is no pedal indicated. Play it as if you want to ‘dance all night’!
